Adsam's culture

Adsam came to me in a bit of a dream. He and his litter-mate, Ipsim, were teamed up with a human soldier to scout out a planet for enemy hide-outs. While on the their search they stumble across what that planet uses for water. In the middle of this body of water they notice a body that's managed to sink itself into the murky depths. Adsam is sent into the water to retrieve it, and when he surfaces with his prize he claimed to not feel very well. Over the course of their traipse back Adsam starts to act strange, then he turns all out feral and abandons the team. They spent the rest of their time on edge since the hostile planet has a highly trained and heavily rabid soldier let loose upon it)

The next time they see him, which was considerably later, he's sitting atop a large rock or boulder located in the aforementioned body of water. He stripped down to his under armor and is cold and wet and shivering. The human convinces Adsam to return to them, and that's about where the dream ended.

Of course I don't want Adsam to go feral on us, so I changed that bit. Otherwise he's pretty much the same.

More thoughts on his appearance:
I see his physical body being not unlike Lynx, only with a little bit of Turian mixed in for extra seasoning. His fur would be short on some areas (face and most of his body) and long and soft on others (all the areas that humans tend to grow hair ie, head, groin, jaw). I'm debating whether his claws would sit on his fingers like human nails do or if they'd retract slightly.

More on Ipsim:
Ipsim would be the oldest and biggest from her litter. She's more dominant that Adsam and is better able to adapt to "on-the-fly" situations. She's the senior officer in their troop (the one from the dream) and often butted heads with the human.

He's the 4'th in a litter of 5. The others (in order of birth) are:
Ipsim (soldier)- gray like her mother
Illiam (scholar)-gray
Absun (religion)-dull brown
Adsam (soldier)-gray
Undil (scholar)-Red like his father

More on his customs:
When I refer to his "culture" I mean his community/town/city.

I don't see his culture really having a word for "sister" or "brother" or even "Mom" and "Dad." It would be more like "Female Litter-Mate," "Male Litter-Mate," "Sire," and "Dame." I also see that the children of a litter are very close to each other, and not so much their parents. Parents would pretty much lose interest in their children once a new litter was on the way. This isn't out of cruelty, but necessity. The existing children should already be marked for their life's profession and well on their way into training, so they don't particularly NEED their parents any more where a new litter would require all a parents attention.

When a litter is born their culture demands that at least one of them goes to the army, one to the religion, and one into scholarly/useful pursuits. Profession has its own special form of "marking." The army is a cropped tail (so that it won't become a liability in hostile situations). The religion.. well their members are fixed (making them much more passive and docile). Those in the religion often see to things like crops, live-stock, gardening, and simple labor that helps bring them closer to mother nature. The scholars have their ears cropped (this causes them to heighten their other senses). Scholars learn anything and everything from medicine to mechanics depending on their interests.
Adsam's particular culture lives on the cusp between open desert and thriving cities. They mostly make currency from harvesting sand cucumbers or taking city dwellers out into the dessert and back.

That's all I can think of for now. Will add more if anything hits me.
